Tomáš Sedláček (1977) is a Chief Macroeconomic Strategist at ČSOB, the largest Czech bank. Prior to that, he served for more than two years as a non-political expert advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic, with the special responsibility over fiscal consolidation, the reform of the tax system, pensions system and healthcare system. He was a member of the first and second Czech Eurobond Emission team. Earlier, he served as an economic advisor of the President of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel till the end of his term in office. He has earned his PhDr. with honors at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University where he lectures on Ethics in Economics, History of Economic Thought, Philosophy and Economic, Current Affairs in Economy and Rhetoric. He also lectures at the University of New York in Prague and at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. He led an analytical team of a non-governmental organization, YES for Europe, during the pre-referendum campaign and wrote many impact studies on EU enlargement. He lectured on the subject of EU accession. In cooperation with Georgetown University and Harvard University he wrote and co-authored a number of case studies on management, ethics and decision making in transformation. He is member of the Board of Directors of The Leadership Forum. He is a founder of The Economics Club and other non profit organizations. His Thesis on Ethics in Economy won the Hlávkova Nadace award. He is a member of Program committee of Forum 2000 Foundation and an elected member of Board of Directors Czech Economic Society. He publishes in scientific as well as daily journals. |
